Plastic+Paper expands capacity with Lamina Blackline

Vaughan, ON-based display and packaging materials manufacturer Plastic+Paper hasconfirmed the installation of a new fully automatic 1626 BL 800/500 ‘Blackline’ from Lamina System AB, the largest and fastest of its kind in North America.

The new laminator is capable of handling sheets up to 63" x 102" at speeds reaching 5,000 sheets per hr, marking a significant investment in Plastic + Paper’s production infrastructure.

“This is a transformational step forward for our company,” said Frank Catalfo,Vice-President, Plastic+Paper. “The Lamina laminator will dramatically increaseour capacity and precision, allowing us to better meet our customers' evolving needs.”

Initially, the machine will be used to laminate Plastic+Paper current 40pt and 50pt laminated C2S display boards, with plans under way to offer custom-sized lamination services. These customized options are designed to help customers reduce material waste, lower production costs, and improve supply chain efficiency.

Plastic+Paperis also developing new product lines to leverage the laminator’s full capabilities, with additional launches scheduled throughout 2025.
